THE CAUSE
Every day millions of people have to walk miles and miles just for water. Most of the time the only water available to them is contaminated and often causes illness. Water Mission is changing lives, one community at a time, through their sustainable safe-water solutions. Each dollar raised by this event is going to make an impact through a safe water community development project!
THE EVENT
The actual walk is a total of 3 1/2 miles where you carry an empty bucket 1 3/4 miles to a ‘water source’. Your bucket is then filled with dirty water – of which you then carry back to the finish line. This simulation is meant to illustrate how millions of people in other countries deal with dirty or contaminated water.
